"The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his faith and his lovingness." - Gibran Khalil Gibran

I'm originally from Iran and came to the U.S. when I was 18 to study Computer Science. I received my BS in Computer Science and MS in Technology with a focus on Development and Training, and Project Management from Illinois State University. I worked at State Farm as a developer and later on for ThoughWorks as a consultant. I originally made Literately for my English-speaking husband. After I noticed his improvement in such a short time, I decided to leave ThoughtWorks and focus on building Literately to benefit everybody who's trying to learn a new language!

"Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect." - Vince Lombardi

I'm Sarah's husband and the first Literately user. I tried learning Farsi using several other language learning tools and didn't learn much more than a few random words. I started using Literately as a way to recognize and pronounce the alphabet so that it would be easier to use a dictionary and read Farsi around town. After only a few hours of practice, I was able to make sense of the letters...and with more practice I was able to read!

"Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach." - Aristotle

I'm a retired elementary school teacher and have spent 30 years of my life teaching children aged 6 - 10 how to read and write in Farsi. I'm bringing my expertise to Tested Minds to make it easier for our students to master any language!
